Testimonials – Coaching

“RunningYogini has a completely unique and extremely knowledgeable way of seeing the whole picture and customize the training for each individual. Even I, who always had problems with my knees and was told to never run, has with the help of RunningYogini become a frequent runner – And I love it!

- Marie Forsberg-Mare, Swedish-American entrepreneur

Running Yogini Integrative Coaching“I never thought yoga was for me. I considered it too spiritual and hokey to be of value to me. As a busy person, I thought the time I could squeeze in for exercise should be cardio and strength training. Then I met Angela! With her guidance I learned yoga was the missing piece to my fitness routine. Hip pain that plagued me for months as my flexibility increased. Yoga has also helped me become stronger, and increased my cardio endurance. Done correctly, there is nothing ‘hokey’ about it! Everyone has angels in their life, and Angela is definitely one of mine!”

- Sonia Paeper

“I am new to running; I started about 2 years ago. Ever since starting, I have repeatedly injured my shins, which is extremely frustrating because running is the only way I am able to take off my ‘baby weight’!  Then I met a lady who told me about Angela. Some friends and I signed up for some group coaching sessions and I ‘started over’ with Angela’s methods. During the very first session, she was able to point out exactly why my shins were hurting, and since then I have corrected my form. I am now pain free!

And, even more icing on the cake: after taking two full weeks off to heal and running very little for 6 weeks prior to that, the first time I ran one of my favorite 3.5 mile routes, I was only 5 seconds shy of a new PR. I was amazed at the improvement. I am training now for my first half marathon and I know in my heart I would not have been able to do this without Angela’s coaching. Thank you so much Angela!”

- Amy Nohrden – mom, entreprenuer and half-marathon trainee

“I was coached by you two summers ago. Since then, I have lost 70 lbs. and have once again picked up running… after quitting multiple times and recommitting multiple times! I just wanted to let you know, that finally, I get it. You were pretty firm about heart rate training, and making sure that I never crossed a certain number, and that breathing is the key to keeping that heart rate down. I am often amazed when doing pace runs or increasing my durations that I can almost will my heart rate down, solely on how I breathe.

I do enjoy the benefits of the hard work, and that I am able to do so much and feel so great doing it. Running was so painful before, mentally, and physically. Its nice to know that I can now bang out 45-60 minutes and feel like I really could have kept going if I had wanted to!

Thank you for the time you invested in me, I know at the time you might have wondered what “stuck” and how much I had gained. Evidently your dividends are a bit delayed with me! Again, Thank you.”

- Krystal Myers, music teacher and mother

“I began working with Angela while I was nursing an injury that wouldn’t heal. I was very anxious about straying from my training schedule and about preparing for an upcoming race. She helped me to realize the importance of taking a day off every week and of taking time off to allow stubborn injuries to heal. She gave me a great deal of advice on improving my running form and on strengthening my hips and legs in order to avoid future injuries. Thanks in part to her coaching, I was able to shave  6:20 off my half-marathon time.”

- Michelle Bradshaw, half-marathon competitor

“I sought Angela’s help after hitting a ‘wall’ during marathon training. Angela was able to analyze my current plan and guide me on how to train better and more efficiently. Angela’s combination of whole body awareness and focus on form has helped me run with more ease and relaxation. More than anything, Angela has encouraged and supported my efforts to improve both form and speed. Thanks, Angela! You are a talented coach for running and healthy living.”

- Heidi Custer, teacher and marathon runner

“Never hearing of a running coach before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I used to run all the time and then, like many of us, lost momentum and life just took me away from my sanctuary. Ten years later, when I attempted to take up the practice again, I found I was continually injuring my right calf with no explanation. A few sessions with Angela, the Running Yogini, totally helped me to see where I could make adjustments that would keep me injury free and get the most from my runs. If you’re looking to either start running or to enhance your current practice, you’d be remiss to not seek the services of Angela. She will definitely put you on pace to reach whatever goals you may have.”

- Christina Shulz, entreprenuer

“Thank you so much, Angela, for all the great tools and exercises. I know now there is more to running than just putting one foot in front of the other and going!  I look forward to future coaching sessions. Thank you again!”

- Corrie Butler, group session participant, followed with a 5K PR

“After having a baby at 40 I found myself in a tough place with extra weight that wasn’t coming off and feeling so rundown. I contacted Angela and she encouraged me that I could get myself back in shape. She taught me the importance of breathing and put together a walking plan that was achievable. I was skeptical that this was going to work but after a few weeks I am walking further than I thought possible and enjoying it. Her breathing technique was key for me and has changed my life in so many ways. I now look forward to walking plus I have lost 7 lbs. and I am on the way! Thank you so much, Angela, for believing in me!”

- Pennie Martin, online coaching client

“[Angela] has a very delightful style that is very supportive and encouraging and I thank you for that. I will recommend you to anyone I know that may need an excellent coach.”

- Karen Paschal, Weight Watchers drawing winner

“Angela will teach you breathing, body awareness and more. Angela’s approach is gentle yet filled with wisdom and knowledge. She taught me in ten minutes what I couldn’t ever learn from a video or class. She explained the body and body systems which helped me embrace the new breathing techniques even more — I liked that! I felt so encouraged and relaxed with her. Thank you, Angela for your help. I can’t wait to meet with you again to learn more!”

- Melissa Taylor – Freelance Writer, Blogger, Teacher

“Angela has taught me to work within my target heart range while building up my running base.  She has also taught me to incorporate yoga and nutrition into my program.  Those skills have really worked well with my Weight Watchers program.  The results have been evident on the scale and in how I feel.  The discipline of Angela’s coaching and the Weight Watchers program are keeping me motivated and excited.”

- Pam Cassidy, 57, recently completed first half marathon

“Ms. Angela was my coach for 2 years, and she taught me everything I know about running.  From the right way to stretch before and after a run, to the right way to breathe when you run.  She inspired me to start running many different races, from short one-mile races to 10k’s and more!  Thanks to her I am planning to run a bunch of different 10k’s over the summer. If I had any other coach I probably wouldn’t be nearly as motivated and stick with it.”

- Meghann, 12, South Parker Running Club for Youth member

“I originally went to see Angela in “support” of my husband and she was so down to earth, easy going and passionate about running and yoga that it peaked my interest! I never saw myself as being even remotely interested in running or yoga but after I heard Angela speak about how she is rarely in the gym and loves the outdoors, it clicked with me, I would not say I am an outdoors person but I know the indoor gym was not motivating me.  After training with Angela, she does not disappoint, if you are committed, she will be just as committed to you, she will give you feedback and gentle pushes where necessary.”

- Julie Petek, new stay-at-home mom of 2-year-old
